Product Liability

When a person is hurt by a product, whether in the home, at work, or during other activities, that area of law is known as “product liability.” We have successfully represented clients injured by products such as automobiles, fork lifts, farm equipment, and household appliances.

These cases are defended vigorously. They often require a variety of experts, and we are committed to retaining the best experts. As a result, these cases can be quite expensive and time consuming to pursue. The ability of defendants to create procedural delays often creates a hardship for plaintiffs, but we use all of the legal tools available to avoid unnecessary delay. When we learn of a poorly designed or manufactured product, we are committed to taking on the large, well-funded manufacturing companies who too often put making money ahead of the safety of the public.

For example, in a case involving a poorly manufactured fuel system in a car, we actually brought a half of a car into the courtroom so the jury could see the product itself rather than just pictures. While cumbersome and expensive, it was the most powerful piece of evidence in the courtroom. We obtained the highest verdict ever in Lancaster County’s history in that case.
